Domestic Abuse Solutions for high performing teams and individuals

Waypoint is a specialist safeguarding consultancy focusing on domestic abuse and sexual violence.

We support organisations, teams and individuals operating in high-performance environments, including elite sport and other sectors where reputation, scrutiny and performance create unique safeguarding challenges.

Working alongside your existing safeguarding arrangements, we provide discreet, confidential and evidence-based support through:

  • Prevention: Specialist training and education.

  • Recovery: Individual and group support.

  • Organisational Development: Strategic guidance to strengthen safeguarding culture, policy and practice.

Our aim is simple: to protect people, strengthen organisations and ensure that the demands of high-performance environments never become a barrier to safety, support or accountability.

Through expert guidance, tailored interventions and practical strategies, Waypoint helps individuals access the support they need, organisations respond with confidence, and where appropriate, enables those responsible for harmful behaviours to engage in meaningful behavioural change.

Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence - The Facts

The Prevalence

It is highly likely that your organisation has been affected by domestic abuse or sexual violence, whether recognised or not. While prevalence estimates vary, research consistently shows that around one in four women and one in six men will experience domestic abuse during their lifetime.

No individual or organisation is immune. Regardless of success, reputation or performance, domestic abuse and sexual violence can affect anyone, with consequences for wellbeing, relationships, safeguarding and organisational culture.

The Impact - Individual

The impact of domestic abuse and sexual violence can be profound, affecting mental health, physical wellbeing, relationships and professional performance.

High-performance environments require discreet, specialist support that recognises the unique pressures individuals face, enabling recovery while protecting wellbeing, careers and organisational integrity.

The Impact - Team/organisation

Domestic abuse and sexual violence can undermine team cohesion, erode trust and distract individuals and organisations from achieving their full potential. Early intervention is essential to protect both people and organisational culture.

Without proactive training, robust safeguarding and appropriate support, organisations increase the risk of significant reputational damage, media scrutiny and the wider consequences that can follow serious safeguarding failures.

Prevention

Education is a key part of effective safeguarding and a critical component of prevention. It helps individuals and organisations recognise risk, understand harmful behaviours and access support at an earlier stage.

Through increased awareness, early signposting and targeted intervention, training can help create safer environments, support those affected by harm and encourage positive behavioural change where required.

Training can be delivered in person or online, ranging from focused one-hour sessions to full-day programmes tailored to your organisation's needs.

Organisational Development

We work with organisations to strengthen safeguarding culture, leadership and practice, ensuring that safety, accountability and wellbeing are embedded throughout the organisation.

Our support includes reviewing safeguarding approaches, developing organisational capability, advising leaders and strengthening responses to complex safeguarding challenges.

We believe the strongest safeguarding cultures are built proactively. However, when incidents occur, we provide trauma-informed guidance to support organisational learning, accountability and improvement.

Support can be delivered in person or virtually, depending on organisational needs.

All of our services are tailored to each client's needs.
